We are a family of 6, and after Line fell in love with Sula, we decided together that this was where we needed a cabin. We fell in love with the generosity and tranquillity of the island, which only has about 60 permanent residents. The house we bought is from 1975, and in the total renovation we wanted to keep the charm by combining used and new, but in the same style, with references back in time. Many of the furniture was bought at flea markets, old villas in Trondheim or as gifts from people we know. The paintings and photos are by the family and painted by local artists.
We have many boys in the family and the cabin accommodates them all, with many beautiful bedrooms that each have their own unique character. When we are out here, the boys like to swim and fish, and there are many great walks in the area. We always go for a walk in the chapel, which is open 24 hours a day, and there's also a nice round trip to the lighthouse - which is a beautiful sight in all weathers. The local area also offers experiences such as the Terna pub, which is open during the summer months and attracts lots of people for food and late nights. The island also has several local artists exhibiting their work and a large gallery that has both Bleken and Gullvåg paintings. Sula is also part of the coastal pilgrimage route. It is also possible to rent kayaks and wooden boats in the summer. There is plenty to choose from for both young and old, and we look forward to our guests experiencing the island.
