Near the coastline of Rågeleje you'll find this fine log cabin, which dates back to the host's grandparents, where the mulberry tree that has adorned it for generations welcomes you. From the lovely terrace you can gather for morning coffee and see the Kattegat in the distance. Inside the living room, those with musical talent can try out the piano while the rest of you just relax on the sofa.
Throughout most of the cottage there is bare wood from floor to ceiling with sturdy ceiling beams that give you the feel of a Norwegian mountain cabin. Enhance the mountain cabin atmosphere by firing up the stove and letting it spread warmth and coziness. The knick-knacks in the corners and on the walls add character and contribute to its unique, well-preserved look.
Nature surrounds the cottage, with grass growing even on the roof. The plot is in a natural hollow, so you're protected from the worst of the wind when you're out enjoying the garden. It also creates the perfect conditions for cozying up around the fire pit where you can roast marshmallows or make the most delicious snow bread.

My name is Malthe and I'm the host of our lovely family summer house. The family's connection to Rågeleje goes back more than 100 years, as my great-great grandmother bought a large piece of land between Heatherhill and Rågeleje. Since then, most of it has been sold off and the rest has been divided between descendants. Some of the family clan still lives in the area - and such a long history brings with it a lot of anecdotes from the various houses and plots: the plot sold for a winter coat, the skeleton feud we don't talk about and the false wall where refugees were hidden during the war to be smuggled to Sweden. My great-grandmother built the beautiful white thatched house next door; her descendants divided the land between them and my grandparents later built our log house.
Rågeleje has thus 'always' been part of our family's DNA, and we are happy to share our sanctuary with you. The mulberry tree at the entrance is the name of my grandmother's autobiography.
There are also plenty of great things to do in the area. Heatherhill is a beautiful rolling landscape covered in purple heather that offers breathtaking views and fresh air to visitors. Gilleleje has a charming harbor where fishing boats and yachts lie side by side and visitors can enjoy the maritime atmosphere and fish delicacies. Tisvilde Hovedgade is filled with cafés, shops and local life. In addition, every year Claus Meyer opens the doors for 'The World's Best Forest Tour', where local enthusiasts organize activities. Esrum Kloster and Møllegård are historic buildings from the Middle Ages in beautiful surroundings. Buy fruit and vegetables from the monastery garden and grab a coffee in the café.

It’s a great cozy cottage at the best beach location just a short drive from Copenhagen. The cottage might be simple but have all modern facilities and plenty of space. Groceries are also close by - I recommend Spar which have everything and in great quality. Highly recommended holiday home
