Old Swiss hotel charm in Seljestad

Welcome to the old Swiss hotel in Seljestad! With four floors filled with history and charm, there's plenty to explore. Here you can follow in the footsteps of Edvard Grieg, take a mountain hike right from the doorstep, or just relax in front of the fireplace.

The interior is a perfect blend of old and new. The basement living room is large and cozy, with an open fireplace, bar and TV. On the main floor, there is a large living room with sofa and dining room furniture and a wood-burning stove. The large living room is probably the gathering place that everyone is drawn to, but the small blue lounge is good relief if you want to play a game of chess or just relax with a book. The kitchen is large and well-equipped - two stoves, microwave and food processor. The industrial washing machine makes heavy washing up a breeze. On the main floor there is also a bedroom, a large bathroom, a separate shower + women's and men's toilet.

2.the second floor contains 11 bedrooms. Here you will find the 'Grieg Suite' - the room where Edvard Grieg spent several summers in the late 1800s. The rooms vary both in size and expression. Cots/cribs are available. The attic floor is preferably used for storage and carpentry, but the hosts have set up a table tennis table there, so you can enjoy a game of table tennis.

Outside you can enjoy the fresh mountain air. The cabin is located in a great starting point for hiking in the mountains both summer and winter. In summer, you can swim in Stølselva or Løyningsvatnet, and pick blueberries and cloudberries. In winter, it's walking distance to the prepared ski trails of Seljestad and Røldal løypeselskap.

There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. It's a short drive to Odda, where you'll find shopping, a power museum, cafés and much more. Odda is also the starting point for the popular trip to Trolltunga.
