With carefully selected materials, good craftsmanship and a solid sense of aesthetics, this beautifully converted 60s summer house is a gem in the middle of nature. Between the tall pine trees, the house is almost at one with nature, which can be viewed through the large windows of the house. It gives you a sense of calm from the comfort of the cottage, where the fireplace is always warm and cozy and nature is breathtaking no matter the season.
In renovating the cottage, the hosts have preserved the classic style of the house from 1965, keeping in mind the warmth, aesthetics and craftsmanship of the time. The renovations have been carried out with a sense of the house's history, but have added the modern necessities that are great to have today. Every detail has been carefully considered - from the tiles from Hasle on Bornholm to the carpenter-built kitchen in pine veneer. All so you can relax and just be when you're there.
Inside the house you'll find a utility room, three small bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen with a home bar and access to the atmospheric terrace. The outdoor life on the terrace in summer is life-giving and encourages good food and wine with friends, lamps in the trees and warm summer nights. The area is open, in the sense that the plots in the area are not fenced in, as it is a requirement that wildlife must be able to move freely and the forest must remain a forest. On the 1900 square meter plot, there is plenty of space and many nice little nooks and crannies where you can sit down with a good book, completely secluded. There are several hammocks you can set up around the forest.
Just five minutes away is the beach, which is completely unique. It's a wide sandy beach with shallow water, making it completely child-friendly, where you can bring a picnic basket and laze all day or just stroll back and forth between the beach and the house. Fredskovens ice cream parlor is within walking distance of both house and beach and here you can satisfy your hunger and thirst - and not least there is ice cream for children and children's souls, because no ice cream is spared in the waffles..
The cottage is primarily designed for relaxation and contemplation in front of the fireplace or a good book on the terrace in a deckchair, but the area in West Zealand offers many experiences. For example, you can easily get around to Tissø bird sanctuary, which has sea eagles, or to a small cozy Viking center that tells the story of a large Viking community in the area. The large Viking center Trelleborg is also just a 20-minute drive from the house and is also worth a visit - especially if it's market day.

Our names are Anna and Kenneth, and together with our four children, we have our summer house here. We've always wanted to own our very own holiday home in the middle of nature, and when we stumbled upon this little gem three years ago, we never doubted it for a second. The house was built in 1965, and since we bought it we have remodeled it ourselves.
When we're at the cottage - and we're there as often as possible - it's all about total relaxation, coziness and recharging our batteries, as everyday jobs demand a lot from both of us. We go for walks in the beautiful nature, swim as much as possible, sit out under the large pine trees until late in the evening while the bats hunt in the twilight, or 'talk' to the night owl that lives in the area. In winter, it's nice and warm and safe inside, from where we follow the movement of the red deer in the area.
A trip to Røsnæs is a must. Climb the lighthouse where you can look out over the Kattegat and the Great Belt, and if the weather is nice, take a dip at Nyby harbor, where you can also buy an ice cream, a cold beer or a pork roast sandwich. If you want to eat out in the area, there are a couple of wineries, not least Restaurant Næs, which is a warm recommendation from here.
Reersø harbor offers a fishmonger, its own brewery and crab races, and the inn delivers a good piece of smørrebrød and decor from a bygone era. Definitely worth a visit. The beaches at Reersø are fantastic, blue flag and all, and water activity is a big thing here. Snorkeling, UV hunting and coastal fishing are great in the area, which has many sea trout. It's also possible to launch a boat at the beach and harbor. If you have active children in the cottage, you can spend a day at Kragerup Estate, where there are climbing courses in the trees that can challenge even the best. Booking via the website is a must.

Simply wonderful! The house is located in the middle of a cottage settlement in the forest with sufficient distance to neighboring properties and 5 minutes walk to the beach and sea! The spacious, sunny terrace around the house invites you for breakfast, lunch and dinner with birdsong and watching the squirrels, deer, foxes and cross spiders :-) Wonderful place to do yoga or just enjoy your morning coffee in the hammock outside!
If you love nature, tranquility and little hustle and bustle, this is a wonderful place to switch off! The house itself is really "hyggelig" with its 3 bunks, its huge windows into the nature, the large lounge with wood stove and the well-equipped kitchen with induction stove. A little gem!
