The Chateau is a fully renovated and modernized 14th-century chateau that has been extended over the generations. It has served as a family vacation spot welcoming (and re-welcoming) guests from many countries for more than 20 years. We now welcome new friends to the chateau.
The house is ideal as a multi-generational hub that allows visitors to enjoy vacations without having to compromise. Our pool is private, our gardens are private, and much of the surrounding grounds are private. Friends or family members who want to unwind will find the gardens a welcoming and quiet spot with magnificent views. There are two outdoor dining areas between the chateau and the guardian's cottage, and in the back garden. The BBQ is generously sized and the kitchen fully equipped for extended leisurely lunches or dinners. In case of rain, there is a large indoor dining table. For a quiet area indoors, visit the reading room on the first floor, and if children wish to immerse themselves in their own games, a TV room can be found on the second floor. To-the-chateau fiber-optic connections create a strong wifi signal in the house reaching into the gardens.
Many will find the private pool with ample relaxing space irresistible. Some may opt to explore – the house backs onto a forest with great hiking and running trails and ample opportunity for biking. Other guests may opt to join a canoe experience just 1.5 km down the river – and we would recommend taking along your picnic and stopping at one of the many sandbanks to observe the rich fauna and uniquely preserved flora. Others may explore their climbing skills at the AirParc at the river. On other days, guests may wish to explore the history of the region with castles Beynac and Castlenaud among the top medieval attractions in France within minutes of the Redonde. Or visit Domme and Sarlat, among the best-preserved medieval cities. The abundance of noteworthy villages within minutes is one of a kind: Belves, Beynac, Castlenaud, Domme, La Roque-Gageac. In our experience, the best markets are in Sarlat (Wednesday and Saturday), Domme (Thursday), Le Buisson-de-Cadouin (Friday), and the top star is St Cyprien (Sunday).
