The hike to the Igellochfelsen through the forest begins right outside the front door. Just a two-minute walk away is the Gasthof Lamm, known for its highly recommended fried potatoes. After about a 20-minute drive, you’ll reach Triberg with its famous waterfalls.

We're Werner and Ruth, Yacha and David. Werner got the ball rolling: As a master plasterer and energy consultant, he brings decades of experience in renovation, a keen sense for natural materials, and a good deal of ingenuity when working with existing structures. Ruth's an artist and knows her way around gardens, plants, fabrics, and natural dyes—her personal touch can be seen throughout the house. Yacha and David work as architects in the Black Forest and Switzerland, specialising in the renovation of existing buildings, and they brought their experience with historic farmsteads to the project. Here, too, we've aimed to transform the old house on the Schwanenbach into a cosy, contemporary holiday home without stripping it of its venerable soul. We're very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Haus am Schwanenbach.
