Modern and idyllic holiday home with forest views

We are a family of four who built a summer house in 2025 on a forest plot in Tisvilde Hegn, which is part of the Kongernes Nordsjælland National Park. We both grew up with summer houses in the area and love that we can now pass this on to our children.

In the summer, we enjoy cycling through the forest to the beach, to Tinggårdens landhandel for warm, organic breakfasts and French delicacies, to Liseleje for quality coffee at Michaels, burgers at Haveje with our feet in the sand, and a trip to Hyllingebjerg beach, which offers a fantastic view with its high cliffs.

We cycle to Grønnehavegaard visitor farm, which is a stone's throw away, through the forest to the bustling summer cottage life in Tisvilde and along the coast to Hundested to spend an afternoon at the harbor with crab fishing and good food at Restaurant Knud.

On special occasions, we eat at Restaurant Tinggården, located in a four-winged farmhouse from 1702 just around the corner, which serves classic French country cuisine—people come from far and wide to taste their cheese platter.

When the children get older, we will try glamping on the beach at Lynæs Surfcenter. They also have a surf school, a food bar, and a great atmosphere. We also want to try mountain biking in Tisvilde Hegn, which is supposed to have the best trails of its kind.

In the fall, we go mushroom hunting in the forest, which is directly accessible from the backyard, and go for walks in the forest and by the water.

In winter, we enjoy ourselves in front of the fireplace with board games, books, hot cocoa, and homemade baked goods.
