Get to know this charming laftehytta, which stands out in its unique location, away from usual cabin areas and embraced by over 9 acres of private forest. It tempts with panoramic views from the veranda and a short walk to Lake Mjøsa for a refreshing swim. The cabin has been carefully refurbished but retains its authentic 1938 charm, with a subtle balance between old and new.
Inside, all furnishings and rooms have been updated but retain the historic style. The tapestry walls have been refurbished, but still retain their original charm. Every detail reflects a modern comfort combined with the genuine feeling of timeless elegance.
With over 9 acres of greenery and woodland, you'll discover a wealth of outdoor activities on your doorstep. From darts and badminton to vegetable gardens and outdoor showers, there's always a new experience to explore. Add in elements like the fire pit and barbecue and you have all the ingredients for unforgettable moments in nature.
Around the cabin, you'll find a rich selection of activities and sights. You can hike along Pilegrimsvegen to Tangen marina, enjoy a pizza at the campsite, or visit Tangen Dyrepark. Lake Mjøsa is also known for its kayaking activities, and for the more adventurous, the climbing park at Domkirkeodden in Hamar is a must. Ankerskogen's spa area is also an attractive option for a relaxing day.

Highlights from Ellen Katrine
Host since December 2023
- Enjoy the quiet and secluded location with panoramic views of Lake Mjøsa
- Explore the extensive network of hiking trails in the forest and mountains
- Short walking distance to beaches and piers along Lake Mjøsa
Laftehytta was built in 1938 and bought by my grandmother in 1956. Today, my two adult children, Vilde and Eddie, and I "run" the renovation of both the building and the old furniture, and maintain 9.3 acres of garden and forest. What we love is the combination of space for many guests, both inside and out, the fact that the cabin is secluded in the forest - free from the view of neighbors, and all our outdoor activities, such as darts, badminton, the vegetable garden, outdoor shower, fire pit, barbecue etc. But, the panoramic view and walking distance to the beaches along Lake Mjøsa, the nostalgia combined with today's comfort and the glass veranda on a gray day are the highlights. As well as a short travel distance from Oslo and Oslo Airport Gardermoen, and the proximity to Hamar.
