At the foot of Jernhatten and with panoramic views of Kattegat and Hjelm, you can enjoy a fantastic sanctuary. Here you are located right in the middle of one of the country's most beautiful natural areas and surrounded by light, intimacy and exclusivity.
For the past 10 years, the old mill farm has been uninhabited, but after a loving renovation with respect for history and a focus on sustainability and good materials, you can once again enjoy this fantastic and historic place. It features a large living room with exposed rafters and a functional and beautiful kitchen with a direct view of the water. The kitchen has everything the skilled food enthusiast needs to create dining experiences that the family can enjoy together. The sleeping accommodation is divided into two bedrooms, a sofa bed and two single beds, so there's plenty of space for five sleeping guests.
The large panoramic windows invite nature in, and when the doors open, it's just a few steps to the beach and the sea around Havmøllen.
Havmøllen was built in 1677 and with its scenic location at one of Djursland's most visited nature areas at Jernhatten, it has been a well-visited place. The farm's exciting buildings and natural access road from Jernhatten to the entrenchments have attracted many people, and the place has also been a cultural meeting place for the local area. Farmers could get their grain milled here. After the milling stopped in 1875, the farm has functioned as an agricultural property and is now used to welcome guests to a place where communal dining, culture, art and the environment are the key elements.

We are Sofie, Daniel and Anna, and we are the team behind Havmøllen. This place is our joint project and we launched the idea and concept in 2021. We are a team with different skills and roles that work together to ensure that the different elements and projects of the place harmonize and work well together. In everyday life, you meet a permanent team of employees and local actors who create life and movement on site. They are the ones who make things happen. We believe in community, sustainability and quality of life in the countryside and in nature. We love communal dining and always offer our guests the opportunity to join us for dinner.
Of course, we love the area, nature and culture that can be found at Jernhatten in Djursland. The windmill is located in the Mols Bjerge National Park, so all the best that Djursland has to offer is within easy reach. You can take a trip to Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri, take the kids to Ree Safari Park or visit some of the many nature and cultural experiences the area has to offer.
