In the picturesque landscape of the island of Eiderstedt, North Frisia shows its quiet side. Across meadows with wildflowers and cows you will reach the thatched house of Martje and Olaf. Nestled in a 1,000 m² natural garden, the semi-detached house is the perfect place for some time out.

This cozy half of the house is located in the former stable of the thatched house. It has its own terrace and private garden area; the rest of the property is shared between the guests of the two halves of the house.

On two floors, a living paradise for up to 4 people extends here. Via the wooden staircase you reach the light-flooded upper floor: Here 2 persons sleep in the queen-size four-poster bed with high-quality mattress and 2 more find space in the cozy alcove on 140 x 200 cm. If things turn out differently, an additional person will find a comfortable place to sleep on the sofa.

The spaciousness of the surroundings continues in the house: here you will find only one door, namely the one to the bathroom. Perfect for a small family or a couple. If you long for a little more space, you also have the option to rent the entire house (consisting of two separate halves).

The bright, open floor plan and the individual furnishings give the vacation home its personality and radiate a cozy authenticity. The focal point is the spacious living and dining area with underfloor heating: from here a magnificent view of the old Koog and the surrounding landscape opens up.

In general, this property spoils with manifold beautiful views. Another place of breathtaking views is the sauna with panoramic window, from which you can admire the natural surroundings. After a relaxing sauna session, the fireplace in the garden invites you to enjoy a cozy baked bread and socializing.

My name is Martje and together with my husband Olaf and our 3 children I live in Nordfriesland. When 10 years ago an old worker's cottage in our neighborhood was for sale, we decided to renovate it. The most important thing for us was sustainability and the use of high quality materials with the aim to bring out the original character of both halves of the house. Over the years we collected furnishings with character and renovated the house with much love and heart and soul. Today our reed house with its two halves has become a very special gem for large and small travel groups. What we love about the area is its spaciousness and tranquility. We try to spend as much time as possible in the magical landscape - in balmy summer nights with the chance of sea lights.

The house is beautifully furnished, with taste and great attention to detail. It is very comfortable, has high quality furnishings and is very child friendly (books, toys, high chair, crib, step, etc). Our son loved the "skyscraper" in the bedroom. The setting is picturesque, the garden an oasis of calm and the sauna simply exclusive. Thank you!
