Nordic island home near forest and water

On the small island of Orø in the Isefjord, this modern holiday home is located next to a forest and just a short walk from the water. Here you can put a kayak in the water and let the dogs have a dip. But if you want to get in the water yourself, Orø's only and very child-friendly beach is a short bike ride away.

The decor is Nordic, airy and modern, and every detail has been thought of. Everything is furnished with a mix of old and new furniture in a light, Nordic style. The house consists of an open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, and two lovely bedrooms. The hot water supply is limited, so you'll have to take short showers - true island style.

There's a cozy wood-burning stove in the living room, and you'll find more firewood - which is included - in the shed next to the house.

In summer, you can enjoy the sun on the terraces, the kids can jump on the trampoline and use the cottage's zip line in the garden, or maybe you want to build a campfire. The hilly garden is right next to a small forest and if you're lucky you might see a couple of deer on their walk, sometimes crossing the garden in the morning.

If you have a dog, it's more than welcome - as long as you keep it on a leash at all times out of consideration for our neighbors. If you arrive by car, please park in our driveway next to the house - no parking on the gravel road. Please note that if you come by public transport to the island, the distance from Holbæk ferry on Orø to the house is four kilometers, and there are no taxis on Orø. You can either walk to the cottage or try to get a lift - people are usually very helpful. The hosts are also happy to drop off one or two bikes at the harbor for you.
