We're the fourth generation here, having transformed a preserved hunting cabin from 1898 into a modern cabin with comforts and additions that blend beautifully with the original structure.

Unspoilt nature and Norwegian tradition, with electricity, running water, heated floors, a bathroom/sauna, a fully equipped kitchen, groceries delivered to your door, an electric car charging station (charging not included), a driveway leading right to the door, and free, private parking right outside.

It's a peaceful, established holiday area set a short distance from other cabins and surrounded by pristine nature. You'll enjoy unique tranquillity, plenty of space to roam, a 10 mål private plot, completely undisturbed. You'll enjoy unobstructed views of nature from indoors in all directions. Summer/autumn: sun on the patio, mountain hikes, canoeing on the river/lake 50 metres away, hunting/fishing, swimming and sauna, campfires, outdoor adventures with young children on the property, bike rides (bikes must be brought along).

The Bautahaugen Museum features 19 historic buildings, and Hedalen Stave Church, dating from around 1160, houses some of Norway’s best-preserved artefacts from the 12th century. Guided tours are available at both sites during the summer. Hedalen has a history tied to emigration to the United States in the 19th century. The pilgrimage route to St. Thomas Church on Filefjell also runs through the valley. We've got canoes in the boathouse, and you can arrange boats, fishing gear and life jackets. Winter: cross-country skiing, sauna/snow bathing with no crowds, sledding hill, animal trails, starry skies free of light pollution. You can put on your cross-country skis right on the stairs. Long, private driveway—great for sledding—with no other cars. Two pairs of snowshoes and some ski gear available to borrow. Perfect for families with children, extended families, and adult couples. We recommend a maximum of 8 adults + 3 children, as the bunk bed and extra dining seats are intended for children. Changes from the photos: dining table in the living room, induction hob in the kitchen. Mobile reception's good, but there's no Wi-Fi, as we want to enjoy nature, silence, reading, spending time together, and outdoor activities while we're there.
