Located in the heart of the historic centre of Monticchiello, a village in the Val d'Orcia listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this house dating from the second half of the 19th century embodies 150 years of family history. You'll step into rooms that have weathered two world wars, where generations have grown up, and where every object has a story to tell.

The 160 m² of living space, spread over two floors, features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Exposed-beam ceilings, irregular walls, and windows overlooking the historic centre blend with old family furniture that we've carefully restored and reimagined with contemporary touches. Every room tells a story about those who lived here before you.

The garden overlooks the village’s medieval church. A century-old pear tree, the rosebushes planted by the grandmother, a fig tree, and an olive tree have always been part of the family. A small veranda, which once served as a shelter for chickens, is now a quiet space perfect for reading. The owner’s great-great-grandfather carved a face into the stone on the façade.

Monticchiello sits a few kilometres from Pienza, Montepulciano, Bagni Vignoni and Montalcino. In about an hour you can reach Siena, Arezzo and Perugia. From the village, hiking trails and e-bike routes wind their way through the Val d’Orcia to the Via Francigena.
