We are a family of two adults and one child who have owned the cottage since 2024. We live in Stockholm but spend a couple of weeks at the house ourselves, mainly during the winter season but also in the summer. That’s why we’ve put a lot of time and care into making the house really cozy and homey, equipped with all kinds of amenities. The house is perfect for larger groups of friends or families—there are plenty of social areas around the large fireplace, which is the heart of the house; the kids can gather in the TV and sofa corner; those working remotely have access to a workspace with monitors; and you can also retreat to a quiet nook. Outdoors, there is also a seating area with a fireplace that can be used year-round.
We love the area for its tranquility, and in 2026, a larger hotel with a spa, pool, and restaurant will open within walking distance. We love being able to switch between four different ski areas that offer both downhill and cross-country skiing. In addition, there are great opportunities for golf, mountain biking, hiking, whitewater rafting, fishing, and more. For families with children, there are plenty of activities available, such as a pool, kids’ club, dog sledding, rock climbing, a high ropes course, and more. Idrefjäll and the village of Idre offer a number of restaurants and grocery stores.
