Barn with dock and fjord view in Skånevik

In this converted barn from 2022, you’ll find modern comforts combined with old timber walls. The property has been in our family for generations and is located a five-minute walk from downtown Skånevik and just a few minutes from the best beach in the area. Here, you can experience the ever-changing light from the sea that continues to fascinate us.

The barn consists of a living room, kitchen, one bedroom, and two lofts. The bedroom has a double bed, while the loft has a double bed and a single bed. The kitchen features heated tiles, a dishwasher, and a large, old fireplace that provides a cozy atmosphere and warmth. The bathroom has underfloor heating, a shower, and a washing machine. You’ll also find toys, games, and books in Norwegian and English.

Outside, you have a cozy terrace with views of the forest and fields. The property extends all the way down to the sea, where you’ll find a dock and a quiet spot to watch the sunset. Here you can borrow SUP boards, and the kids love catching crabs and shrimp from the dock. There is free parking in front of the house.

Skånevik is a charming village in Western Norway with wooden houses nestled among green meadows, a three-hour boat ride from Bergen Airport Flesland. In the village, you’ll find a grocery store, a bakery known for its bread and pastries, and a 25-meter outdoor heated pool with a sauna and fjord views. Visit the small island of Peparen with its beautiful beach, just 100 meters away via a footbridge. The area offers everything from short hikes to challenging mountain hikes with fantastic views.
