We are Jonas and Michelle, and we live in Roskilde with our 3-year-old twins. We love the cottage life and the landscape near the cottage in the summer. Jonas has always fished in Tissø, and he had long dreamed of having a summer house right here. "It's our first summer house and we've now owned it for five years. When it came up for sale five years ago, we just had to buy it. It's an old fishing cabin with a unique location and fantastic uninterrupted views, set back from the neighbors. Over the past two years, we've renovated it ourselves to make it the nicest and coziest place we could imagine.
In winter and fall there are the most beautiful sunrises - we're generally just drawn to the nature, the idyll and the peace of the area. There's also fantastic wildlife because the area is protected. There are views of Lake Tissø from everywhere in the house and from the backyard you can see the local church.
Tissø offers fantastic fishing for pike, perch and zander. Pike and perch can easily be caught from the shore wearing waders, but if you really want to hunt for the lake's monsters, you need a boat. It is possible to rent a 16-foot Rudkøbing dinghy, and we recommend that you bring your own motor as the lake is very sensitive to wind. The dinghy is located in the small cozy 'harbor' about 100 meters from the house. The chance of an unforgettable fishing experience is present, as many large fish have been caught in the lake in the past.
If you're not into fishing, there are many other wonderful natural and cultural experiences in the area. Fugledegård Viking Center, Tyrsgaards Rekreavetive Univers (Paradise for children), Kragerup Gods' activity park, lovely beaches and Røsnæs with its many attractions, beautiful nature and vineyard are all within a 30-minute drive.
Shopping opportunities and farm shops are not far away. We can recommend Bromølle Kro for lunch, Dragholm Castle for gourmet and brunch, and Cirkus Is at Kirke Stillinge Strand for delicious ice cream.
We are both experienced in renting out our house and previous apartments and we love having guests stay.

Great views from the living room. We saw a sea eagle twice, and in general it was just nice to be able to sit inside and look out at nature.
