The cottage is decorated in a personal style with a mix of new and old, heirlooms and second-hand finds. The large windows let in a lot of light, and the living room with lots of cozy corners gives the cottage a lovely sense of space. During the renovation of the house, special care has been taken to preserve the charming cottage atmosphere that fits so well with the scenic surroundings.
The large open garden with a lovely wooden terrace is the perfect setting for late summer evenings with bonfires, endless play in the garden and spontaneous walks back and forth between the sand and waves of the beach and the peace and quiet of the garden. Our names are Steen and Britt, and we live in Greater Copenhagen. After dreaming of becoming holiday home owners for several years, we bought the cottage in February 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed having a little 'sanctuary' during the lockdown. Our three children are all grown up now, so it's especially now that we have the time to enjoy our sanctuary.
We fell in love with Nysted on our first visit. Here we have it all - a cozy and very authentic market town with few but good shops, fine restaurants and a fantastic bakery. We love our sanctuary. It's where we relax and unwind. We enjoy nature and tranquillity and love the beautiful walks in the area - along the coast, by the marina, in Aalholm Castle Park and through the city. We also like to take a drive into cozy Nykøbing Falster.
