The Eiderstedt peninsula reveals itself as a magical destination: with the North Sea as a surrounding element, an incomparable natural landscape presents itself here. The air is filled with the gentle bleating of sheep grazing on the lush green meadows. The semi-detached house with its characteristic North Frisian thatched roof lies in the middle of this idyll.
As soon as you enter the house, you are enveloped by a feeling of arrival. The renovation has transformed the former workers' cottage into a fully furnished home, while retaining its original character. The lovingly selected unique vintage items and the various wooden elements create a cozy atmosphere that makes the house a real home.
There is room for up to 8 people in this half of the house in a completely secluded location. If the 140 m² are not enough for you or you simply want more space, you have the option of renting the entire house for a total of 12 people. Thanks to the separate entrances, terraces and privacy screens, everyone can still enjoy their own privacy.
On the first floor, you will find an open-plan living and dining area and a bedroom with a comfortable double bed. The underfloor heating throughout the lower floor ensures a pleasant warmth. In the spacious 55 m² living and dining area, you can light the fireplace to make it even cozier on cold days. The panoramic window gives you a wonderful view of the terrace and the natural garden. On the upper floor, which is furnished with cozy, whitewashed wooden floorboards, there are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and another with two single beds. There is also an inviting alcove (140x200cm) in the hallway.
In the 1,000 m² garden you can enjoy the immediacy of nature and the vastness of the landscape to the full - in summer you can often see cows in the fields next to the house. You can take a walk across the meadows directly from the house. After a long excursion, you will find a place to relax in the shared sauna (can be used by the other half of the house). On chilly days, you can relax in this cozy retreat and enjoy the view through the panoramic window.
Finally, a note: We love thatched-roof vacation homes - when dealing with fire and electricity, we ask guests to ensure that the thatched roof is not exposed to any fire risk. You will receive more detailed instructions from your host.
Tourism Fee not included
A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you're bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.

Natural materials, carefully selected vintage furniture and loving details make the house a home away from home
There is a sauna for up to six people in the natural garden. It offers a view of the old Koog and has a wooden deck and a refreshing outdoor shower
My name is Martje and together with my husband Olaf I live in North Friesland. When an old workers' cottage in our neighborhood came up for sale 10 years ago, we decided to renovate it. Sustainability and the use of high-quality materials were particularly important to us, with the aim of bringing out the original character of the two halves of the house. Over the years, we collected furnishings with character and renovated the house with a lot of love and passion. Today, our thatched house with its two halves has become a very special gem for large and small travel groups. What we love about the area is the spaciousness, the peace and the light. We try to spend as much time as possible in the magical landscape - on balmy summer nights with the chance of seeing the sea light up.

We had a great time at Olaf and Martje's house. It is beautifully furnished, there are lots of games, magazines, books and puzzles. The kitchen was well equipped so that we could bake bread and cook in the evening. A small North Friesland guide was also helpful. We found some good tips in it. Communication with Olaf was also very straightforward. Thanks for everything!
