Stone house in Casoli between the Alps and the sea

Perched at an elevation of about 500 metres in the old mountain village of Casoli di Camaiore, this 300-year-old stone house spans 140 m² across several levels, sleeps up to 8 guests, and has hiking trails right outside the door. Thick stone walls, old wooden beams, a fireplace and antique furniture define the interior. Found objects and natural materials blend with simple elements—much of it's remained unchanged for generations. Three bedrooms, one bathroom, an additional restroom and a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table provide plenty of space.

Two terraces invite you to linger, with views over the green hills of Versilia all the way to the sea. The house sits in the car-free historic part of Casoli—from the car park, about 160 steps lead through the old alleyways up to the front door, a walk of about ten minutes.

From Casoli, hiking trails lead directly into the Apuan Alps, and mountain streams and natural swimming spots lie in the surrounding area. The beaches of Lido di Camaiore and Viareggio are about a 30-minute drive away. Pietrasanta, Lucca and Pisa are great for day trips, as is Carrara with its marble quarries.
