On the slopes of the Weserbergland, surrounded by meadows, fields and forest, lies the country house in the style of the turn of the century. As soon as you enter the property through the old iron gate surrounded by roses, it becomes clear how much love has gone into preserving and upgrading the historic details of the house.
In addition to the half-timbering, large wooden windows adorn the façade, which also provide plenty of light inside the house. The preserved oak beams in the living area are a reminder of the house's history and blend picturesquely into the interior design thanks to the selected wooden furniture and individual antique pieces.
A special highlight is the country-style dining table in the kitchen, from which you can dream away at breakfast with a view out of the window into the almost endless expanse of the surrounding landscape.
Two cozy bedrooms on the upper floor - one with a double bed and another with two single beds - ensure that you can sleep well at night.
Explore the lovingly landscaped, park-like garden with its historic roses and incredible variety. Here you can enjoy the buzzing of the bees over a cup of tea on the terrace in the afternoon and have a fantastic view of the Weserbergland and the region's famous landmark, Schaumburg Castle.
The house is the perfect starting point for hikes through the Hohenrode floodplain landscape with its numerous bird species or for excursions into the ancient cultural landscape. Cycling tours and boat trips along the Weser, the Hohenstein rock formation or the park at Münchhausen Castle are just some of the many leisure activities you can enjoy here.

A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you're bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.

The lovingly landscaped garden with its historic roses and small stream
The unmistakable view over the wide Weserbergland from the terrace
Numerous excursion destinations in the immediate vicinity, such as exciting old walls, romantic chapels, castles and palaces
A unique combination of architecture and landscape.
While looking for a domicile for us and our animals, we found what we were looking for in 2000 on the Taubenberg, high on the slopes of the Weserbergland. The farmhouse from 1900 (which we live in ourselves), the adjoining stable (now home to our horses) and the 15,000 m² of land were ideal for making our dreams come true. But probably the most impressive thing about it all was the phenomenal view of the Weserbergland, the lush green meadows right next door where the horses graze and the close proximity to the forest, fields and meadows. Inspired by garden trips, we knew that a beautiful garden would be created here one day. After around 2 years of preparation, the ideas were implemented step by step with a magnificent result. We realized that this place could also be a perfect vacation destination for lovers of this type of garden. This gave rise to the idea of building a guest house in this garden to inspire other people too. So in 2017, after several years of planning, the country house was built in the middle of the garden with a lot of feeling for the choice of materials. The tranquillity, the nature, the garden, the house and us, the hosts Martina and Kai, all make this corner of the world a special place. The "big picture" with its lovingly stylish details is a wonderful invitation to slow down. We would like to share this total work of art, which we are constantly developing, with our guests.
