On the slopes of the Weserbergland, surrounded by meadows, fields and forest, lies the country house in the style of the turn of the century. As soon as you enter the property through the old iron gate surrounded by roses, it becomes clear with how much love the historic details of the house have been preserved and newly upgraded.
In addition to the half-timbering, large wooden windows adorn the facade, while also providing plenty of light inside the house. The preserved oak beams in the living area are a reminder of the house's history and blend picturesquely into the interior design thanks to the selected wooden furniture and unique antique pieces.
A special highlight is the dining table in the country-style kitchen, from which you can dream away to the almost endless expanse of the surrounding landscape while having breakfast with a view out the window.
For nightly dreams, there are two cozy bedrooms upstairs - one with a double bed and another with two single beds.
Explore the lovingly landscaped, park-like garden with its historic roses and incredible variety. Here you can enjoy the buzzing of the bees while sipping a cup of tea on the terrace in the afternoon and have a fantastic view of the Weserbergland as well as the famous landmark of the region, the Schaumburg.
The house is the perfect starting point for hikes through the floodplain landscape Hohenrode with its numerous bird species or for excursions into the ancient cultural landscape. Bicycle tours and boat trips along the Weser, the rock formation Hohenstein or the park of Münchhausen Castle are just a few of the many leisure activities you can pursue here.

In search of a domicile for us and our animals, we found it in 2000 at Taubenberg, high on the slopes of the Weserbergland. The farmhouse from 1900 (which we live in ourselves), the adjoining stable (today it houses our horses) and the 15000 m² large area were ideal to realize our dreams. But probably the most impressive thing about it all was the phenomenal view of the Weserbergland, right next door the green lush meadows where the horses graze, the tangible proximity to forest, field and floodplain. Inspired by garden trips, we knew that a beautiful garden would be created here one day. After about 2 years of preparation, step by step the ideas were implemented with a terrific result. We caught ourselves thinking that this place could also be a perfect vacation spot for lovers of this kind. So the idea was born to build a guest house in this garden to inspire other people as well. So in 2017, after also several years of planning with a lot of feeling of the selection of materials, the country house was created in the middle of the garden. The peace, the nature, the garden, the house and we, the hosts Martina u. Kai, all this makes this spot of earth a special place. The "big picture" with its loving stylish details invites you to slow down. This work of art, which we are constantly developing, we would like to share with our guests.
