In this historic log cabin from 1756 without water or electricity, originally the porch of Ås Church, you can experience authentic Norwegian cabin life with a unique historical atmosphere. With its spectacular location in Valdres, the cabin offers a perfect base for mountain adventures all year round.
The interior reflects the cabin's rich history, with the original timber creating an authentic atmosphere. The atmospheric fireplace is a natural gathering place, perfect for cozy evenings after long days outdoors. Fully equipped kitchen (without running water) with gas refrigerator and gas stove. Bathroom with composting toilet, shower cubicle with battery-powered shower head and water in a bucket, which functions almost like a normal shower.
Drinking water must be brought with you. Can be obtained free of charge from the store (Coop Prix Heggenes) a few kilometers from the cabin.
The cabin has a rainwater collector. The water in this is fine for washing dishes, showering, and cleaning.
From the cabin, you have a view of the majestic Jotunheimen mountains. The area around the cabin is lush and scenic, with varied terrain that invites exploration.
The location is ideal as a starting point for mountain hikes, with direct access to hiking trails both summer and winter. Jotunheimen National Park is nearby and offers endless opportunities for both short day trips and longer expeditions in the Norwegian high mountains.
Toll road from the valley to the cabin (NOK 90 per passage).

I have spent countless moments at this cabin since I was a child, and have collected many cherished memories throughout the seasons. Ten years ago, I had the pleasure of taking over this gem that my grandparents built in the 1950s, and I look forward to sharing this unique experience with others.
