The Kräutercottage, located on a historic Thuringian farmstead, combines sustainably restored furnishings with a large garden and direct access to the forest. The small village, with about 30 residents, is quiet, and from the cottage you can look out onto a landscaped garden on one side and toward the forest on the other.
Most of the furniture consists of old solid-wood pieces that have been carefully restored. Colorfully painted cabinets, floral ornaments, and handcrafted embellishments add lively accents and give the cottage a warm, personal touch.
The large terrace, surrounded by greenery, is accessible directly from the kitchen. There you’ll find a dining table, an outdoor couch, and space for barbecuing. By arrangement, one of the meadows can also be used for outdoor activities.
In the vegetable garden, you can harvest seasonal vegetables and herbs for your own use. Depending on the season and availability, you may also be able to pick fruit. In three minutes, you’ll be in the forest, where you can go for walks, gather mushrooms, or pick blueberries.
