You’ll be staying in a historic brick building from 1929 that was lovingly renovated two years ago and has won an architecture award. The historic cobblestone driveway leads you to this special retreat nestled in the heart of unspoiled nature.
The light-filled house captivates with its huge windows and an open floor plan spanning two stories. The impressive masonry stove with two viewing windows provides cozy warmth in the winter. The modern kitchen with a double oven blends harmoniously with the style, complemented by individually selected country-style furniture. Two bathrooms offer comfort for everyone.
The garden, with its blooming flowers and a small vegetable patch, invites you to linger. Your private veranda offers the perfect spot to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. A lovingly converted construction trailer sauna with a view of the meadows is at your disposal.
You’ll be staying among four large lakes with wonderful swimming spots, which you can reach by bike or car. Hiking trails lead through secluded, beautiful nature. Spot Highland cattle in the meadows and rare birds like white-tailed eagles and cranes. You’ll find a restaurant with a beer garden in the neighboring village. Raft and boat trips on the Templin Lakes can be booked.
Tourism Fee not included
A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you're bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.

Hello, my name is Burkhard. I own the Backsteinstall together with my wife, Tessa. We’ve been living in this secluded charcoal-burning village in the heart of the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve for 25 years, and we run an organic farm with a friend.
