Welcome to an architect-designed home where light and nature take center stage. The cabin spans three levels with a mezzanine in between, and large windows frame the view from every angle. A wide, light-filled hallway connects the levels and creates a natural flow between indoors and outdoors.
The top floor is shaped like a hull with panoramic windows. Here you’ll find a comfortable seating area, an elegant dining table, and a well-equipped kitchen with a stone countertop and Merbau parquet flooring. The master bedroom features floor-to-ceiling windows facing the view and a private exit to the terrace. The small bedroom has a double bed, and both rooms offer ample closet space.
The lower level features a large common room with two small double beds and a bunk bed, perfect as a playroom or extra bedroom. There is a private exit to the terrace with morning sunlight. The cabin has two bathrooms, and a washer and dryer are available. If you have small children, please note that there is a wide staircase without a child gate.
Rennesøy is a large, green island with beech forests and an old cultural landscape. DNT-marked trails lead you to beautiful viewpoints such as Rennesøyhodnet and Pilå. A 10–12-minute walk downhill takes you to the pier and swimming spots in the sea. You can also take a 25-minute drive to downtown Stavanger.

Solknatten was my grandfather’s country home. He was a painter and spent the entire summer on Rennesøy because of the light and the view. In 2007, we replaced the old cabin with an architect-designed house that captures this light and view, regardless of the weather or season.
