My name is Rebekka. My summer house was designed by my brother-in-law, who is an architect, and it was completed in May 2021. The house reflects what is important to me in a summer house. Cosiness, togetherness and creativity, topped with the most beautiful view.
When I was a big girl, I went on a cycling holiday with my mother and we found this amazing place - a completely unknown gem. We felt very lucky, because to think that there are still places in Denmark that are so beautiful and so secret from the outside world. Soon after, my parents bought a cottage in the area. Now I have three children of my own, and it's fantastic to have a cottage right here. Here you are so close to nature, where the sheep go and graze, you can look out at the swans, you can run on the football pitch and playground, or play in the pits, which are relics of the old Viking landscape.
We love walking up to Navet and up on the mountain where you can find raspberries, listen to the nightingale and enjoy the view over the Limfjord. The kids love Aalborg Zoo, or a trip to Nibe, where there are nice shops and a lovely harbour bath (with lifeguard). And the area around Rebild Bakker and Store Øksø is fantastic and must be seen for yourself.
