Log cabin in Fordalen at the foot of Knutfjellet

This log cabin in Fordalen offers you a simple cabin experience in the heart of the Norwegian mountains. Light the wood stove, settle in with a good book or a board game, and listen to the radio as the warmth spreads throughout the cabin. The barn door, with its open top, lets in fresh mountain air whenever you want.

The cabin's 30 square metres and it accommodates up to 4 people. In the living room, you’ll find a double sofa bed, and the bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. The kitchen features a propane stove with an oven and a new propane refrigerator with a freezer compartment. The restroom is a small outbuilding with a composting toilet and ventilation through the roof.

Right outside the door there's a fire pit where you can gather as evening falls. The Forda River flows nearby and offers pleasant fishing spots and opportunities for swimming when the weather permits. You can collect water from the stream nearby, but feel free to bring drinking water during the grazing season.

Fordalen serves as a gateway to Forollhogna National Park and lies at the foot of Knutfjellet, at an elevation of nearly 1,100 metres above sea level. Two marked hiking trails start right by the cabin and lead you up into beautiful mountain terrain where you can hike for miles. In the autumn, you may have opportunities for small-game hunting for grouse and forest birds, provided hunting licences are available.
