My name is Bjørg Marit and this family cabin was built by my parents in 1972 and we added a modern extension in 2015. You drive right up to the cabin. We have grown very fond of our cabin, which we call "Oabu", and the family uses it all year round. I have four grandchildren, so the cabin is adapted for small children.
When I'm at the cabin, my favorite thing to do is to go hiking and skiing, sit on the terrace and enjoy the view and sunrise with my morning coffee. It's also fantastic to light a fire in the fireplace and we enjoy grilling sausages and enjoying the silence.
The cabin is located in Blefjell, and you'll find groomed ski trails right outside the cabin door. The family ski resort is a 10-minute drive from the cabin, or you can travel to Fagerfjell or Kongsberg, which are 20 and 40 minutes away. You can also go on marked hikes in the mountains or head down to Gvelven Kro for a freshly baked waffle, pizza etc. and something good in a glass. Concerts are also sometimes arranged there. There are great cycling opportunities with a new cycle path to Fagerfjell. it's a 2 km walk to the lovely bathing water on the mountain, where there is also a barbecue area. There are marked hiking trails on the mountain in summer and a cross-country skiing paradise with groomed trails in winter.
