We built this architect-designed family cabin in 2014 and have spent many pleasant moments here together. When we built the cabin, we were keen to prioritize large windows to bring nature right into the cabin - in addition to the location in the beautiful area - which offers beautiful mountain terrain with good hiking opportunities as well as hunting and fishing.
When we're at the cabin, our favorite activity is hiking, often with a fishing rod in our backpack. In the summer, we often take the nice trip down to the Sognefjord for swimming.
Autumn is beautiful in Stordalen, with gorgeous colors. The sky in the brightest blue tones against the warm tones of the mountains in red, yellow and orange. After a walk in the area, we fire up the fireplace and make something hot to eat.
Winter is a chapter in itself, in mid-winter the sun does not come down to the cabin, but the snow has come. In the snow we see traces of grouse, hare and fox. We strap on our skis and take a summit tour from the cabin. The shortest hike is to Sætrefjellet, from there you can continue to Klaven. For the fit: Røyrdalsfjellet or Søndagsfjellet. From February, the sun is back and the warmth of the sun wall is fantastic. We head to the local ski center, which is run by volunteer enthusiasts. It doesn't get any cozier than this.
