We are a family of five; Paul and Jeanette, Daniel (6 months), Anders and Kristoffer (12 years). Our cabin on Bjørkøya is a place we love to be and we often travel here on weekends, vacations and especially spend a lot of time here in the summer when the children can swim, play and meet other children their own age.
When we are at the cabin, we like to barbecue, meet at our favorite restaurant for a good dinner or a good glass of wine, the many great hiking trails and to take part in the good environment among the residents of the island. There are lots of great hiking opportunities for young and old, and we often see both deer and badgers on the island.
It's a short boat trip to Langesund, where you'll find several good restaurants and the many beaches, small islands and rocky outcrops to swim from are definite highlights. There's also fantastic evening sunshine here!
