My name is Theis. We are a small family with children, living in Frederiksberg on a daily basis. We bought the cottage in 2019, exactly the day Mette Frederiksen ordered the first lock-down. The summer house has become our getaway place, where we magically forget the busy and hectic everyday life. It means a lot to us to have a place where our child can experience nature, peace and wildlife - in contrast to our life in the city.
I think the cottage on Odden has become a way for us to live a little more in harmony with the things we value most. Good produce, quality time, peace and quiet.
When we are at the cottage, we always drive by Birkemosegård, a biodynamic farm shop, shop at Odden Fisk, which has everything good from the sea, or pick up freshly baked bread from Tir Bakery, run by Louise, who used to bake bread at Restaurant Noma. It's the best bread we've ever had. On a good day, you can grab an espresso from Kaffe Kim's espresso cart while waiting in line for bread. When he's not making coffee, he's playing his trumpet.
We also enjoy visiting Havnebyens Kaffebar - the good people behind the bar, missed a good cup of coffee on Odden, and opened the Coffee Bar. They also serve food, and along with the Kiosk next door, which sells biodynamic wine and cheese - well, you've got everything you could dream of.
