In a lovely, child-friendly area next to Venø bay, lies this gem of a 70's cottage. Here you are surrounded by the hilly terrain and only 5 minutes walk from Hostrup Beach, where you can enjoy the sunset, jump in from the jetty or let the kids build dams in the small streams in the sandy bottom.
It's a bit like stepping into a little time warp as you pass the doorstep. The house was built by a skilled carpenter, which can be felt everywhere in the house, from the large windows that let the sun and nature in and the beautiful kitchen, which stands as a witness to the beautiful craftsmanship of its time. In the large living room in the middle of the house, all the family's little hobbies can unfold, and both adults and children can retreat to their own rooms when they need peace and quiet.
From the south-facing, partially covered terrace you can enjoy shelter from the west wind and let the children play in the countryside. In the lovely wilderness pool at the top of the hilly landscape you can sit completely undisturbed, hidden behind bushes and birch trees and watch the night sky. On winter days you can also see the fjord from this location.

We are Stine and Bert, and together we have two girls aged 3 and 6. We work as a Kaospilot and an anthropologist respectively, and Stine has also started a company called HÅND, from which she sells organic soap and other skin care products.
Stine is from Struer in West Jutland and after some years together in Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen, we decided to move west to be closer to family and nature. In our search for exciting holiday homes in the area, we stumbled upon the summer house here in Spøttrup and had the brilliant idea that we could live here temporarily until we found our future holiday home. We have now lived here for almost a year and the house means something very special to us. We bought the cottage with all the furnishings from the first and only owners, who built the house themselves back in 1975.
We love the silence, the peace and the nature where deer, squirrels and hares run around just outside the window while we eat breakfast. Just around the corner is the cosiest little path that goes through the forest and ends up on a hill overlooking the Limfjord. Here we usually enjoy the most magical starry sky in the evening. We also enjoy driving to Gyldendal Lystbådhavn just 5 minutes away which has a nice little cafe and a boat pool. There is a fantastic sandy beach with shallow water which is great for the little ones especially. Also within a short drive are two fantastic forest playgrounds, which we will of course be happy to help guide our guests to.
