We are a couple from Stockholm who share a passion for travel and nature experiences. Recently, we have focused on exploring the best of Södermanland, where we enjoy cottage life by the sea, hiking, cooking, garden design, and a rich cultural offering. The cottage is located next to the sea with several beautiful beaches, nature reserves, and many well-maintained hiking trails (Sörmlandsleden). For families with children, Kolmården is a popular attraction (20 minutes by car). The proximity to Nyköping and Oxelösund makes the cottage's location ideal for a combination of entertainment, culture, and nature on the Sörmland coast. For us, the cottage is about creating a place where others can experience the same peace and beauty that we find here.

We sought out cottage life for a few days during the fall foliage season and found this gem by Bråviken. Not on the nearby beach, but by a beautiful moss-covered little cliff. The Japanese-inspired cottage is harmonious, with a minimalist interior and a warm, lovely wood feel. Our stay gave us peace, relaxation, and sauna bathing. The children built a hut by the rock and played in the forest.
The friendly staff at the local grocery store had arranged a good selection and fine ingredients.
The Sörmlandsleden trail offers several circular routes in the area, which made it easy to take short day hikes with the children. The Nävekvarnsslingan trail offers miles of views and plenty of funnel chanterelles. At the foot of Simonberget there is a very nice and exciting barbecue area.
