Isolated stone and timber house in the forest

Getting to La Pegatera is part of the experience: a dirt road winding through oak, holm oak, and pine trees leads to a completely secluded, self-sufficient stone-and-wood house with a swimming pool for six people. Solar power lights the house, and water flows from its own spring.

The house was restored with meticulous attention to detail, and it shows in the materials and the thoughtful design of the spaces. There are spots for everyone to gather together and others where each person can find their own quiet corner. The stone and wood lend warmth to an interior designed for both socializing and tranquility.

From the house, you can head straight out for a walk through the surrounding forests. If you’d like to go for a swim, there’s a river with natural pools about a 20-minute drive away. There’s also the Estany de Montcortès, a glacial lake with crystal-clear waters, and the Sant Antoni Reservoir in La Pobla de Segur.

The region has plenty to offer for those who want to explore: the Coll de Nargó Dinosaur Museum, the castles of Mur and Llordà, the Romanesque Route, and the Aigüestortes National Park. In Sort, Bóixols, Àger, and Organyà, you’ll find rafting, canyoning, paragliding, and kayaking. Andorra and La Seu d’Urgell are an hour’s drive away.
