When you first enter the house, you will sense the openness of the kitchen-alley, where there are ceilings to the kip. Both in the kitchen and at the dining table you can look out to the hills while cooking or enjoying a good dinner. Afterwards, you can move together into the cosy sofa area around the TV. As you unpack, you can put your clothes in the lovely old tiled wardrobe in the master bedroom, while in one of the other rooms the children can find toys in the cupboard or climb up to see the loft.

On the lovely terrace that goes around the house, you can enjoy the sun all day while listening to the North Sea. Take your breakfast outside and let the smell of freshly brewed coffee mingle with the scent of heather. You can settle down on sun loungers and look up at the blue sky while admiring the fine swallows. The adjoining shed holds more toys for the kids as well as the cottage barbecue. You can also take scenic bike rides on the cottage's own bike, either around the countryside or down to the local grocery store.

If you feel like venturing outside the grounds, pack a lunch basket and walk down to the quiet beach where you can have lunch in the dunes or play beach tennis on the water's edge while the kids swim in the lovely Western Sea. In the area you will also find fantastic local gems, including Svinkløv Badehotel, where you can enjoy a delicious piece of lagkage or you can go to Fiskehuset Ved Thorup Strand, where you can eat a fresh fishcake while watching the fishing boats. The kids will also love a trip to Hjortdal Animal Farm, where they can pet and stroke the animals. If you like mountain biking, Slettestrand has one of Northern Europe's longest trails with many fun challenges.
