As you trundle down the gravel road and onto the unspoilt grounds, you immediately feel the tranquillity and authentic cottage atmosphere. Surrounded by tall trees and flowering shrubs, this charming wooden house with iconic black painted facade and mullioned windows emerges to enjoy lots of wonderful family moments.
The house is cosily furnished in classic cottage style with recycled finds that evoke memories and tranquil colours. The shelves are stocked with wonderful holiday literature and you can almost imagine the smell of freshly baked breakfast rolls filling the house with joy. The house's many rooms and adjoining annexes make it ideal for families with children, several generations or couples of friends with the little ones under their arms.
In the courtyard you can relax with a good cross under the parasol while the children play. The garden invites you to numerous outdoor activities and nearby you will also find Sommerland Sjælland and the legendary crab fishing at Rørvig Harbour, where hours of fun await children and childlike souls.
A short distance from the cottage is Gudmindrup Strand, one of Denmark's best beaches. The walk down there goes through the beautiful terrain and along the way you pass both the dunes, shaped by the forces of the Ice Age, and the Korevlerne, which is a scenic lagoon for birds and the characteristic Galloway cattle.

Highlights from Daniella

- The authentic cottage atmosphere inside and out
- The garden invites you to hours of play and fun child-friendly activities
- The location close to Gudmindrup Strand, one of Denmark's best beaches
Our names are Mikkel and Daniella. The summer house is our second home, our sanctuary and our breathing space. It's where we drop our shoulders when we turn off the main road on route 21. It's where our beautiful boys have learned to ride bikes, build sandcastles and eaten countless ice creams. And it's where we as adults give each other the intimacy that can be hard to come by in short coffee dates on the playground inside town.
We love the cottage area around Højby Lyng. Here the charming, old cottage atmosphere is preserved and at the same time there are a lot of new and exciting initiatives in the area. In high season, drop-in yoga is held at Fyrregården just 600 metres from the cottage, and we definitely recommend stopping by the local, hip beach bar Haveje on Gudmindrup Strand. Haveje beautifully combines Vesterbro and Byron Bay and offers a wonderful summer selection of local ice cream, delicious drinks and juices, burgers and the most delicious luxury toast.
