The terrace faces the quiet garden, and when you want to go out, the Gudenå River and Almind Lake are both obvious choices. The lake is the best place to swim, and there’s a coffee cart and a lovely walk along the shore.

Silkeborg offers shops, cafés, and the Asger Jorn Museum with a permanent collection and rotating exhibitions. Svostrup Kro is an experience in itself, with dining in the garden overlooking the Gudenåen River. Tvilum Café and Farm Shop combines good food with the chance to hunt for flea market finds.
