The heart of the house is the large room with kitchen, dining room, and living room all in one, where you will find everything you need for a wonderful stay. On either side of the beautiful open space are two sections with bedrooms and bathrooms – three of the bedrooms are master bedrooms with double beds, while the other three rooms have beds that can be moved together or apart, depending on your needs. For the little ones, there are two weekend beds and two high chairs in the cupboards in the bedrooms, and one of the bathrooms has a changing table. This is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy a break from everyday life with their children and family without having to worry about the little things.
The large, bright, modern bathroom has a patio door leading out to the open air and the large terrace with both a sauna built into the terrace and a wilderness bath where you can enjoy the warm water while gazing at the starry sky. The wilderness bath heats up in 2-4 hours, and it's nice and easy to jump in the shower indoors before a dip in the lovely wilderness bath or sauna.
On one terrace, you can enjoy the beautiful morning sun and listen to the sound of the sea in the cozy lounge furniture, and on the other terrace, you have the sun from noon until sunset. Here you will find a barbecue, outdoor shower, and in the summer months, tables and chairs where you can enjoy eating in the sunshine. In the garden, you will find a large in-ground trampoline with a safety net and a soccer field with two goals. There is also a large play tower and two swings for the children to enjoy, and behind the house there is also a lot of bushes, ideal for building dens. If you feel like making a campfire, there is a fire pit with seating for everyone, and you can borrow sticks for roasting bread and popcorn in the house.
Take a short walk down to the white sandy beach – just 800 meters from the cottage is one of Denmark's most child-friendly beaches with a lovely bathing jetty, and if you want to visit the town, it is only a short walk of 1 kilometer from the house. If you want to get out into the open air, the Kløverstierne trails are about 1300 meters from the house. There is also plenty of beautiful nature in Vildmosen, which is a short distance from Øster Hurup.

My name is Lise, and I live in Støvring with my family. We designed the house you are visiting ourselves, and over the course of 2020, we built it together with our four wonderful children – from the very first shovel in the ground.
In 2021, it was finally finished, and we now have huge smiles on our faces when we look at our fantastic summer house. We built the house because we wanted a lovely place to create good memories and traditions with our children, but also to share it with other families and friends who want a break from everyday life.
Now we are ready to welcome lots of lovely guests who want to enjoy cosiness, togetherness and plenty of time together – because there is plenty of opportunity for that here.
The cottage sometimes has a guest of honor, Molly, a goat from the farm across the street. Molly sometimes peeks into the garden and walks around quietly, enjoying herself—before we built on the property, there were horses here that she used to visit, and we think she's an old lady who sometimes forgets that we live here now instead of the horses. She roams freely, loves to be petted and fed, and is completely harmless – so if you meet a goat in the garden, don't be afraid.
The area offers wonderful places to eat and shop. We love shopping at Havnens fisk or the lovely farm shop Øster Hurup Grønt, where you can buy fresh vegetables, eggs, berries, and flowers. Everything is home-grown on the farm and 100% organically grown. When we go out to eat, we really like Cafe Moulés, a cozy and atmospheric café right in the middle of town with delicious homemade pastries, side dishes, and really tasty ingredients. If you're into local ingredients and sea views, the restaurant Vildmose is definitely worth a visit. When you need an ice cream in the summer heat, we – and especially our children – love to stop by Vaffelhuset Øster Hurup, which makes homemade Italian ice cream in homemade waffle cones with a wide variety of flavors.

The house was perfect for us as a family. The room layout was great and there was plenty of space for the nine of us. The kitchen was also well equipped for such a large group. The garden was very nice and there was plenty of space for outdoor games. The large trampoline was the highlight for our daughter.
