Right on the Tisvilde Hegn, the artist's house lies among trees, beavers and birdsong. The old house and studio have stood here since the early 1900s, and an extension was added in the 1970s. It is a large thatched house with lots of history, atmosphere and quirky details - and all the art is the painter's own. The family has kept the house with a focus on - and respect for - preserving the fine original details, history and at the same time making it their own. It's a truly unique and life-giving place for young and old alike.
The house has room for the whole family. There is both a bedroom and a room with two princess beds for the children and a double bed. It is also possible to sleep in the studio, but on old hard beds. The view from here is stunning, though. The family's four-legged friend is also very welcome, but must be kept out of the bedrooms and beds as there are allergies in the family.
Outside the house is great - there are no neighbours or noise and the only things you will hear are frogs and birds. You can take lovely evening walks down to the lake on the grounds and look for the beavers that live here. There's plenty of wildlife and the house is great for adults and children who like to lie in a hammock and listen to birdsong or build dens.

Art, history and atmosphere in the home
A beautiful studio with a great view and a large table for a good dinner for the whole family
The huge plot with its own beavers, lake and lots of bird calls
Our sanctuary is a real family summer house, which has been ours since our great-grandfather bought it. We are now the third generation to own it. Our great-grandfather was an artist and it is his old art that hangs in our artist's home.
We use the local area extensively - we go to Tisvilde Hegn and pick good mushrooms in the forest, go to the beach and bathe in the lovely sea or drive up the road and pick up bread at Tinggården and go to the flea market in Tisvilde.
The beaches on the north coast are some of Denmark's most beautiful, with the most beautiful water, and if you have your own bikes, the best way to get to the beach is to ride through the forest. There are also plenty of flea markets as you drive around the area.
