A traditional family summer house is set on a large plot with space for both ball games and hiding places in bushes and trees. The sea and the private beach are next door, and the view can be enjoyed both inside and out.
Inside, there is space for the whole family, and in the main house there is a loft with a double mattress and also three bedrooms with good double beds. Each room has a French door with its own exit to the countryside, and here you are greeted by a sense of privacy, even if there are many of you away together. Enjoy your morning coffee, walk barefoot in the grass or sneak out for an early morning dip. Rooms are simple and spacious, with large wardrobes in each bedroom.
When the weather is not on its warm side, gather around the wood-burning stove, snuggle up on the sofa or make hot cocoa in the cottage's fine kitchen. The many windows let in a fantastic amount of light, and can be opened all the way when the Danish summer breeze needs to flow through the house. Through the French doors from the kitchen-alley room, you can step out onto the terrace and be swept away by the sea's roar and infinite changeability.
The annex is a small cottage in itself, and is especially beneficial if you are several families away. There are bedrooms, a living room and a bathroom. Walking across the lawn to the pretty annex, you get the feeling of being there, but still having your own place.
The large grounds invite all kinds of play from football to tree climbing and hide and seek. There are many nooks and crannies to spark children's imaginations, and time can come to a complete standstill here. The fire pit between the two houses brings children and adults together after a nice long summer day, and in spring and summer it is lush and wild with fruit trees, berry bushes and biodiverse insect islands. The sea view is on all days and all times undoubtedly the most beautiful.

My name is Nina and together with my wife, Nynne, we have Jens aged four and Johanne aged two. We bought the cottage to have a getaway place outside Copenhagen, where we live and do our daily business. Summer house life means everything to us - especially now that we have children. We want the place to provide a setting for experiences and traditions that both we and the children will always remember. A sanctuary with lots of nature, inviting us to play and have good times with friends and family. We love the cottage's versatile grounds and the many hiding places that invite both socialising and the opportunity to retreat too. The sea on the east side of the house, whether we are looking at it or bathing in it, gives us both mental and physical energy no matter what season we are in. Having the sea so close makes the house a very unique place for us.
In the summer we go to the harbour in Faxe Ladeplads and eat ice cream at Holmegaard Ice Cream at least twice a day. It's buzzing with local life and it's nice to walk around the bridges and look at the boats. BonBon-land is not far from here, and a trip here in the summer with family or friends is a must. The relatively new "Camp Adventure" with its hourglass-shaped lookout tower high above the treetops is certainly worth a visit too. The tower and the surrounding scenery impress both children and adults. Faxe Kalkbrud is an impressive natural landscape, and here various dumpers and diggers rush around with lime, which particularly impressed our children. In addition, the forest on the south side of the cottage invites you for lovely walks with the water right next door. Here you can run and walk as well as eat your picnic. Although we have our own beach, which we use both summer and winter, I also want to mention the newly built beach north of the cottage. A wide, child-friendly sandy beach that is well visited from near and far.
