Our cabin is a sanctuary we go to on weekends to get away and recharge our batteries. It's a cabin with no electricity, no running water and no bathroom. It's quickly heated by a catalytic heater when we arrive, a wood-burning stove in the kitchen and a fireplace in the living room. A good old-fashioned cabin, where since the 70s we have enjoyed the outdoor life with skiing and mountain hikes in gentle terrain and then end up inside in front of the fireplace with a good book in the evenings. We are a family with grown-up children and a Portuguese water dog who also enjoy using the cabin and not least the hiking terrain. The cabin was taken over from my parents by me, Marte, in 2019 and refurbished inside to improve both comfort and usability. Together with my husband, we are also in the process of upgrading the outdoors, with a new outhouse that was completed in 2021 and a shower house that will be completed in the summer of 2024.
