In the middle of the island in the most beautiful surroundings is this renovated farmhouse decorated with designer furniture. The house's fine plank floors are from the demolition of Chr. IV's warehouse in Copenhagen Harbor, and it has been renovated and refurbished by two architecture professors from the Academy of Fine Arts. Paustians Hus, which has been renamed Ras Smeds Hus, has been decorated by Paustian himself, so every detail has been considered. Everything here was completely renovated in 2020 - both inside and out, and you can feel it.
In the living room, there are two comfortable sofa beds, an armchair in front of the wood-burning stove and the dining table is centrally located for cozy family moments. The living room's exit to the garden gives the most wonderful feeling of being at one with nature. The bedroom and the small, cozy kitchen also have access to the garden.
Outside is a wonderful atmosphere, and when the main house is not in use, you have it all to yourself. From here, it's not far to the shops, and due to the beautiful location, there are views of the fields without compromising on the walking distance to the inn and wine bar, Ved Vejen. The house can ideally accommodate four people.

We fell in love with 'Paradise Island' on our first visit 40 years ago, and because of our interest in the furniture and design house Paustian, we pressed our noses flat against the windows of the "Paustian House". We had the opportunity to buy the house 26 years ago and we have enjoyed every minute of it. The summer house is the focal point of our family, which consists of Katrine and I, as well as our six children, their boyfriends, friends and girlfriends. We all love the house, and it's not really summer here without us having been there. We call the house Ras Smeds Hus.
It's completely peaceful and the unique nature creates the most beautiful setting for a relaxing vacation. Here is Europe's only desert, the most beautiful heather-clad hills and the finest sandy beach. From Ras Smeds Hus we walk along the Love Path to the harbor and from the edge of Nordbjerg, we enjoy the view of the desert and Flakket. We walk to the lighthouse through the desert, along the North Beach or through Pakhusbugten Bay - and all the way out to the eastern tip of the island, Totten, where we have a view of a large seal reserve.
We buy our fresh langoustines directly from the cutters at the harbor, and we love to enjoy the sunset at Orakel Bar and morning coffee at Ricco's. Neither looks like anything but a lie and makes no fuss, but both places have an enormous depth of joy and enjoyment of life. Just like a stay on the island.
