Because the cottage is sheltered by the dunes, you can always find a sheltered spot, and when you're ready to get wind in your hair and sand between your toes, you can simply move out to the sea via the private staircase to the water. The beach is private and although others are allowed to stay and swim, there are very few visitors in the area.
The place is great for children's games as well as water activities such as surfing and SUP, a sea kayak trip and fishing. There are two SUPs and a surfboard in the shed in the garden.

As a family, we are incredibly drawn to the sea - the sand between our toes, the salt water and the life below the surface where seaweed, crabs and lots of fish live. When the water is calm, activities at the cottage include snorkelling and underwater hunting, as well as day trips on SUP. And when there's a catch, there's nothing better than freshly caught fish for dinner. On days when the wind is up, we rig up our surf gear and surf the waves - it can't get wild enough. And when the autumn rains come, we hole up in the house and enjoy the driving rain on the windows while the wood stove keeps us warm. We also enjoy the warmth of the sun from the hammock, and there's always shelter and warmth to be found on the grounds.
We love the fact that we are away from the big tourist towns on the north coast. The beach is private and certainly not crowded, so when the gate to the house is closed, we have peace and can enjoy the amazing views of the sea.
Nøddebohuse is an old fishing village, and from here you can walk to Kikhavn via the beach - here you can see both an old, original fishing village and the house where the Danish polar explorer, Knud Rasmussen, lived. Today you can go indoors and visit the museum.
