We stayed at the house in October as a travel group consisting of two families—four adults and three children.
The house itself is beautiful and has lost none of the charm of an old fisherman’s cottage. For our group, the size was more than adequate.
But be warned: One of our traveling companions is over two meters tall—we hadn’t considered this beforehand—and the poor man had to walk hunched over all day and bumped his head several times on the low ceilings. For everyone else in the group—people of more average height—this wasn’t a problem.
The quality of the interior design deserves special mention here. The furniture is exquisitely selected and works wonderfully together. You can tell right away that the owners put a lot of thought into the interior design.
Many vacation homes in Denmark are relics of their time, featuring interiors from the past 50 years—sometimes even in wildly mismatched combinations. After all, minimal investment boosts the return on investment.
Anne and Søren clearly operate under a different philosophy. They use the house themselves, and you can see their attention to detail. Everything is harmonious, and great emphasis was placed on quality and contemporary furnishings. This is also reflected in the condition of the house. Everything works and is clean.
The property is large and offers plenty of opportunities to wander around the house as the sun moves throughout the day. You can be down at the sea in no more than 5 minutes. The view in the evening through the large sliding door is magnificent. Sitting in the comfortable armchairs with a glass of wine or a beer in hand, you’ll definitely feel the vacation vibe and relaxation set in.
On rainy days, the kids made full use of the ping-pong table in the large garage, and the adults had friendly matches there in the evenings.
There are plenty of shopping options in the surrounding area, though you’ll need a car to get around, as there isn’t really much right there on site. Perfect for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxed place that isn’t overcrowded—at least in the fall.
Otherwise, there are plenty of options in the area for day trips and half-day excursions.
We spent a day with the kids at Djurs Sommerland (about 10 km from the house). It’s a lovingly designed amusement park with plenty to do for the “little ones.” Anyone 1.20 m or taller can use all the rides, even the wild ones. Here, it’s not about age, but height.
All in all, it was a wonderful vacation, thanks in part to the house and the warm hospitality of Anne and Søren, who have truly created a little gem here. Thank you both.
