Thatched house with panoramic meadow views

From the hill behind the house, you can sit by the fire pit and enjoy the view of the meadow where the horses graze. This charming, thatched-roof house is located near Tisvilde Hegn, and in the evening it’s so quiet that you can hear the frogs croaking in the marsh on the other side. In the morning, fallow deer occasionally appear on the hill.

The house itself dates all the way back to 1775 but underwent a loving renovation in 2020, so today it combines its historic charm with modern comforts. On the ground floor, where the ceiling height is 195 cm, you’ll find a new and very well-equipped kitchen with a gas stove and an antique Swedish folding table that seats up to ten people. In the living room, a three-seater sofa and two wicker chairs invite you to relax, and there’s also a small workspace by a small desk. An adjoining room with a sofa bed and a workspace equipped with a computer monitor can be used as an extra bedroom, which stays pleasantly cool on warm summer evenings. On the first floor are two bright bedrooms; a door in one of them leads out to a cozy rooftop terrace that catches the evening sun and offers a direct view of the meadow.

Outside, the house features two lovely terraces: one extending from the living room, facing away from the road and offering pleasant shelter, and one by the kitchen, beautifully surrounded by an ivy-covered fence. The outbuilding, originally built as an art studio, features a fantastic panoramic window overlooking the wild vegetation on the hillside. It has been furnished with two beds and a sitting area with comfortable chairs. Although the house is located on a road with occasional traffic, the fenced-in garden ensures peace and quiet, and the nights are always completely still.

When you’re ready to explore the area, Godhavn Station is just 1 km away, with local trains to Tisvilde in one stop or to Hillerød in 30 minutes. You can also easily bike to the beautiful beach three kilometers away. In Tisvilde, the town is bustling with life, featuring restaurants and shops, and the local grocery store serves as the main gathering spot, where you can find exquisite wines and specialty items. Why not pack a bag and take a walk to the woods near Tisvilde, or bike to Tibirke Church, where the hill offers the undisputedly most beautiful view in the entire area.
