The heart of the cottage is the open-plan living room, where conversations can flow as you crack open a good bottle of wine, cook in the small kitchen or simply relax with a view of the beach and the waves on the horizon. Throughout, you are surrounded by the old original beams which, along with fine second-hand finds and antique furniture, create a cosy setting for your getaway.

New decking has been built all around the cottage, which in the back garden is raised in level and therefore not suitable for playful toddlers. On the other hand, you will find a wilderness pool where you adults can get warm on a cool autumn evening and enjoy the wonderful sunset over the fjord.

If you need some fresh sea air, head to Kisserup Strand. It's a pebble beach, so you can hunt for fine stones or amber. You can also take a fjord bath followed by a rinse under the cottage's outdoor shower and a lovely cottage dinner on the terrace.
