We are a family of five, with two adults and three children, and use the cabin as often as we can. Ruben is the eighth generation to own the house, which was built in the early 1800s, and we really love life here - where the silence, the special light, the wildlife, the trips to Bunesstranda and the proximity to mountains and sea form the framework of our days. We also enjoy trips to Bunesfjord, where we collect shells or go swimming. Sometimes we go fishing by boat or visit a café at Reine.
Since 2015, we have been working towards restoring the cabin, with a focus on reuse in combination with modern comfort. This is something we hope our guests will enjoy as much as we do. The place means a lot to us because most of the year is free for people, and is truly a gem for those who want to hide away, get inspired or recharge their batteries. We ourselves run our own business with self-made wellness products, and spend a lot of time collecting plants and inspiration from them for production. We've made the soaps you'll find at the cabin ourselves the old-fashioned way.
