In the heart of culturally rich Värmland, you’ll find an authentic 1920s cottage where the echoes of history meet modern comfort. Here, you can escape the stresses of everyday life and enjoy the genuine, rustic atmosphere that characterizes this unique place.
The cottage offers a practical floor plan with several bedrooms, perfect for two families. The large kitchen with a wood-burning stove and long table is the heart of the home, while the living room is perfect for cozy movie nights. A modern bathroom provides all the comfort you need, and the annex is ideal for teenagers who want their own space.
The outdoor area is a small oasis with a cozy terrace where you can enjoy the evenings around the fire pit. The park-like garden with a small greenhouse creates a peaceful setting for your stay, perfect for lazy summer days and good conversations under the open sky.
From the cottage, it’s a short distance to the area’s many cultural treasures. Visit Selma Lagerlöf’s Mårbacka, explore the fascinating art farm Alma Løv, or enjoy a performance at Västanå Theater. For swimming and water fun, the shallow beach at Fryken is just five minutes away, and Sunne Vattenland is a sure hit with the kids.

- Explore Selma Lagerlöf’s historic home, Mårbacka, just 3 km away
- Swimming at the private, shallow beach on Lake Fryken
- Experience art and theater at Alma Løv and Västanå Theater
We are a theater family who fell in love with this cottage in 2016. For us, this place is our sanctuary where we can live a simple, rustic life, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We worked at the Västanå Theater in 2019 and have a deep love for the area’s rich cultural life and the beautiful nature around Lake Fryken.
The Alma Løv Art Farm, Rotneros Park, Västanå Theater, and Selma Lagerlöf’s home, Mårbacka, are just a few of the attractions here. From the terrace of the cottage, we look down on Lake Fryken. It’s a five-minute walk down to our own beach with a shallow sandy bottom. Perfect relaxation for both children and adults. The kids will probably also want to visit Sunne Vattenland, a huge water park in downtown Sunne.
