Both from a distance and when you step inside, you can clearly see the beautiful architectural lines of the cottage. In the open kitchen, the dining table is placed in front of the large panoramic windows, where the unique view of the landscape can be enjoyed for all the day's meals. Moving to the left, the living room opens up to a cosy large sofa area with plenty of space to enjoy a good book and warm up by the fireplace. The bathroom is a real 70's dream with blue sanitary and shower. All around the house we have built a huge terrace, so you can always find a corner with shelter or sun while enjoying the view.
The nature around the cottage is unique, we especially enjoy the view of the bay of Lake Erie to the west, the forest to the north, and the hilly fields to the south. In the summer the sun sets over the sea and we generally have some amazing sunsets. The house is only 2 km from the beach, and the walk there is really nice. When we are not touring the local area we use the garden really a lot. It is quite special and very child friendly to explore. The whole front garden is one big hill that you can sled on in winter, and we have made a cave for the kids with a secret slide down to the lake.
The cottage really is a wonderful retreat for us, where the family can gather for shared nature experiences and enjoy the tranquillity.

Our names are Louise and Christian, and we have two children, Ebbe, who is 8, and Siv, who is 4. We live in an apartment in Nørrebro, where we work in graphic design and furniture design, respectively. Being summer house owners is pretty new to us, but we love our little retreat just over an hour from Copenhagen.
The house is a Myresjö summer house from 1970, which we have renovated quite extensively, and we have loved the process of making it our own. However, we have tried to preserve the 70s vibe and the good architectural features that the house was born with.
We often go for walks on the Højderygstien hiking trail, which is located behind the summer house. Here you can enjoy an incredibly beautiful view of the entire prehistoric landscape of Odsherred, and there is also a good flea market on the way. At Høve Skov, there is an exciting beach with a stream where the children can play for hours. There is also a cozy restaurant and beach campsite called Lillero. Of course, our children also love Sommerland Sjælland, which is only 15 minutes away from the house by car.
