Hand-crafted cabin in Evardalen near Hovden

This hand-logged cabin, built from heartwood pine from Agder, sits majestically high in the hills with stunning views and sunshine all day long. The natural ventilation and the warmth of the wood create a unique indoor atmosphere. This is the perfect place to unwind from the stresses of daily life and truly find peace. Here, you can slow your heart rate while the flames dance in the wood-burning stove or around the fire pit on the property.

The cabin has plenty of space for one or two families spread over two floors and is perfectly suited for families looking to spend quality time together. On the first floor, you’ll find a spacious kitchen, a cozy living room, and two bathrooms. On the second floor is a common room with sleeping accommodations. Everything is new and ready for you in 2025.

The hiking trails start right at the door. In 15 minutes, you can reach a local peak, and the ski trail passes just 100–200 meters below the cabin door. Here you’ll also find a disc golf course, a lighted trail, and a small lake used for ice skating in the winter. In the summer, the local potholes along the Fåråne River are a short drive or a 15–20-minute walk away. Here you’ll find impressive potholes shaped by the river’s forces over thousands of years, combined with idyllic swimming spots that give the area a special character. The largest pothole has been measured by locals to be a full 9–10 meters deep.

Evardalen offers high-mountain nature with hikes to mountain peaks and waters for fishing and swimming. Sukkertoppen is a popular destination year-round. Brokke Alpine Center offers family-friendly skiing with a chairlift, while Hovden is an hour’s drive away with a larger alpine slope, water park, and shops. Via Ferrata climbing in Løefjell adds extra excitement. You’ll find a grocery store and gas station in downtown Rysstad.
