The landscape of Uelsen and its surroundings is characterized by hilly terminal moraines with wide heath areas, meadows and forests. In the midst of this idyll, on a hill at the foot of the windmill built in 1748, is the artists' house, which skillfully combines recreation and art. Here you can switch off in a quiet environment, yet close to the center, and recharge your batteries in a stylish, cozy atmosphere amidst a multitude of paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations.
Dark ceiling beams, selected, partly modern, partly antique furniture as well as various works of art give the 100 m² living space its individual charm. A cozy fireplace room invites you to spend relaxing evenings on the sofa by a crackling fire. The dining room holds a large table for up to six people as well as a reading corner overlooking the garden. An enclosed veranda with direct access to the garden offers additional retreat options in addition to the three bedrooms with double beds.
In the garden behind the house you can really immerse yourself in nature with a view of the surrounding meadows and fields. An original Swedish sauna house with Finnish wood stove and adjacent relaxation room provides special hours of relaxation, especially in the colder months. The cold outdoor shower creates cooling after the sauna session, but also in summery warm temperatures.
In the village of Uelsen, in addition to a forest outdoor swimming pool, there are also tennis courts and several equestrian centers. Extensive network of bike paths and designated riding and hiking trails invite you to various leisure adventures.
Tourism Fee not included
A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you’re bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.

Hello, together with my wife Simone and the artist Jens van Nes, I have renovated and refurnished the artist's house in an incomparably picturesque landscape. Together we have created a place that combines relaxation in nature with art. Paintings and drawings by the painter and art professor Wilhelm Frantzen adorn the walls of the house and alternate with sculptures and collages by Jens.

The vacation home is very cozy and tastefully furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped, nothing is missing. There are beautiful hiking trails all around, and you can get everything you need in the village on foot. A good place to relax.
